Children from Grades 1 to 6 who participate in one or more of PLASP’s full-time programs can also register for our Professional Activity (P.A.) Day Program. Past PLASP P.A. Day activities have included visits to the Ontario Science Centre, Black Creek Pioneer Village, Kortright Center, Medieval Times, The Art Gallery of Ontario and Chuck E Cheese. PLASP children have also gone to the movies, bowling, skating and community centres where they participate in theme parties and are entertained by caricaturists, magicians, dancers and other special interest groups.
P.A. Day programs for school age children in 2017-2018 will include 2 full-day off-site trips. There will also be 5 half-day off-site trips and half-days at the school location for programming by staff and children.
The ratio is 1:15 in the program, and 1:12 for off-site trips.
Please note: Trips are subject to change with notice. Please note that P.A. Day programs may not be offered in every school.
The P.A. Day Program begins at 7:30 a.m., (7:15 a.m. at selected locations) with children arriving no later than 8:30 a.m., and operates until 6:00 p.m. (6:15 p.m. at selected locations). Children are picked-up and dropped off at their school.
The P.A. Day Program fee includes all transportation costs, entrance fees, supervision, breakfast, lunch and snacks.
A daily P.A. Day fee will be charged on the scheduled pre-authorized payment date when the P.A. Day occurs. P.A. Day fees are charged per P.A. Day and will be added to the bi-weekly payments. This fee will be withdrawn on the scheduled pre-authorized payment date during which the P.A. Day occurs.

Inclement weather, school closures/ trip cancellations
If severe weather and/or hazardous road conditions result in the buses being cancelled, the P.A. Day trip will also be cancelled.
If schools are closed, PLASP will not operate the P.A. Day Program.
If schools are open, PLASP will operate the P.A. Day Program on-site. Children will be able to attend the P.A. Day Program from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the school.
If schools are closed or P.A. Day programs/trips are cancelled for any reason beyond PLASP’s control, PLASP will provide a 50% refund for up to two days per school year.
All refunds will be processed as an adjustment to the next scheduled payment.
How to register
In most cases, you need to register your child for the P.A. Day Program while enrolling your child in a full time Before or After School Program. Registering this way secures your child a spot in all the P.A. Day Programs scheduled for the school year. The P.A. Day Program registration can be done online when you enroll your child in a Before or After School program with PLASP. Please note that your child must be registered in a full-time program in order to register for the P.A. Day Program. These full day programs operate more seamlessly with full-time children that are accustomed to our staff and the components of the PLASP program. Attending a Before and After School Program provides the child and staff the opportunity to get to know each other and this helps to ensure a smooth and enjoyable day for both the children and staff attending the P.A. Day program.
You may register your child for the P.A. Day Program midway through the year should your circumstances change or you reconsider, as long as your child is registered for a full-time Before and After School program. When registering your child online midway through school year, you will need to print a copy of your confirmation, sign it and bring it to the PLASP Program Director at your child's school.
